The graduate program in Biochemistry is a joint interdisciplinary program of five departments, namely Biology, Chemistry, Food Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and Chemical Engineering, offering M.S. and Ph.D. degrees. It is open to students with a variety of backgrounds and career goals.

Fundamental subjects such as molecular biochemistry, chemistry, enzyme kinetics, molecular biology, biochemical toxicology, and molecular genetics are supplemented by several applied elective courses such as food processing, biochemical engineering, and enzyme technology.
